Deyang, Sichuan Province

On Aug 13th 2009, UNIDO-ITPO China, the UN institution pioneering clean technology development in China, held the official ceremony to grant Deyang City the title of International Pilot City of Clean Technology and Renewable Energy Equipment Manufacturing in Deyang, Sichuan. The event highlighted the support of UNIDO-ITPO China to closely work with Deyang Municipal government, industry leaders and investors to unleash the potential of clean technology industry in Deyang.  

Amid the high-end dialogue under the name of Induction of Prominent Strategic Investment and Formation of Regional Industrial Cluster following the ceremony, an MOU was signed between UNDIO-ITPO China and Deyang Municipal government and both sides pledged to work jointly to enhance Deyang’s industrial core competency, in hope of building Deyang into one of the most competitive renewable energy industrial bases in China. 

Headquartering China National Erzhong Group, Dongfang Electronic Group and a number of nation-wide renowned company bellwethers, Deyang is producing dynamo equipments which are being used in 40% of hydropower generators and over 30% of thermal power and turbines in China. Additionally, Deyang city ranks top in wind power generation. Early-stage renewable energy application/manufacturing of hydro, wind and solar starts to emerge in Deyang.

It’s widely believed that clean technology and renewable energy, representing the most innovative energy technology, will become the next generation of global energy. Embarking on the trend, Deyang will transform itself into an incubator for nurturing clean technology, renewable energy equipment manufacturing and green technology innovation.
