The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), established in 1966, is a specialized United Nations Agency, devoted to helping developing countries pursue sustainable industrial development. It provides tailor-made solutions to today's industrial problems by offering a package of integrated services addressing three key concerns: competitive economy, sound environment, and productive employment (3Es) at the institutional policy and enterprise levels.

- 　UNIDO, in the area of investment and technology promotion, has become an important part of the global multilateral investment/technology/project financing system. - UNIDO has published a dozen manuals and guidelines in investment and technology transfer such as "Manual on Project Feasibility Study Report", "Guidelines for Project Evaluation", "BOT Manual" etc., which have become accepted standards worldwide. - UNIDO has developed and uses "COMFAR III Expert" – a computer model for investment project analysis and reporting, generally recognized as the most authentic software system on project analysis and evaluation.
